Mukesh Ambani resigns from Jio, son Akash made chairman
In the principal obvious indicators of a progression plan being outlined at India's most important organization, very rich person Mukesh Ambani left the leading body of his $217-billion gathering's telecom arm, Reliance Jio, and gave over the company's reins to senior child Akash.
In a stock trade documenting, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd on Tuesday said the organization's board at a gathering on June 27, "supported the arrangement of Akash M Ambani, non chief, as executive of the governing body of the organization." This comes after his dad surrendered with impact from the end of working hours on June 27, it said.
Jio is a unit of Reliance Industries Ltd, whose business ranges from oil refining and petrochemicals to retail, media and new energy.
Ambani, 65, has three youngsters - twins Akash and Isha and most youthful child Anant.
It is generally guessed that he might give up the reins of the retail business to Isha, 30, who is hitched to Anand Piramal (child of Piramal Group's Ajay and Swati Piramal).
