Chenab railroad extension will before long carry all-climate network to Kashmir: Ministry of Railways









  • Constructed for ₹1,486 crore, the Chenab bridge aims to boost connectivity to the Kashmir Valley
  • According to the Ministry of Railways, it is said to be the biggest civil-engineering challenge faced by any railway project in India in recent history

Service of Railways on Thursday said that the world's most noteworthy rail span, which is being worked across Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir will before long carry all-weather conditions rail network to Kashmir.

The scaffold will give the truly necessary all-climate network among Kashmir and the remainder of the country. "With 88% culmination of deck sending off, Chenab extension will before long carry all-weather conditions rail network to Kashmir," the Ministry of Railways said in an explanation.

The scaffold is world's most elevated rail line span as a piece of the aggressive Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail connect (USBRL) project and is being built by the Northern Railway at an expected expense of ₹28,000 crore.
